The Expanse rests comfortably among the busiest segments of the volcanic activity known to Lycaenos and is primarily lava rock, obsidian and heavy with other minerals therein. The rock formations are quite large and create a series of hollows and tunnels that provide various shelters. A forest of deadened trees exists along the outer rim but rarely flourishes due to the steam vents and gasses, of which only some are poisonous and the locals know which such vents to avoid. A teeming cerulean pool gleams at its center, rich in minerals and nutrients and is often warm year-round, surrounded by beds of green moss.
