Early Summer, Year One
  • This is an example of a World Update, which could include site-wide events, a thread in a specific Kingdom, or even just a character highlight.

  • A second update can go here. They can be virtually any length, but will be kept short for organization.

  • Look! A wild third update has appeared. Better throw a pokeball at it.

Epilogue
Lycaenos
a magical mythological wolf roleplay

Lycaenos has been renewed, and with it comes prosperity. Guided by signs from the Panethon the wolves begin to make their mark and stake their claims in the names of their chosen elements; with much joy and celebration, the Nations are born. While the Gods have ascended and remain but legends in their own right, the wolves must make safe the lands from threats and pay homage to the magic that teems in the very soil they walk upon. The Beastclans are vanquished and have fled to the wilds, but the renewal of Lycaenos has left it virgin and vulnerable. Atop the ruins of old, we must rebuild. May Etesian guide you.

Welcome, traveler, to the world of Lycaenos (pronounced L-eye-KAY-nohs). We are a fantasy-driven play-by-post roleplaying game that features wolves, magic, and a heavy flavor of Greek Mythology that welcomes mature players ages 16 and up, with a heavy emphasis on content created by the members, for the members. The world of Lyca (as it is nicknamed among the players) encourages organic, player-driven storytelling that will also include the occasional site-wide plot and staff-created content for added fun. With a base premise heavily reflected on the land and flavors of ancient Greece, members will be encouraged to expand on Lyca's world and lore in creative and impactful ways by contributing to the Site Wiki with their own stories and ideas.

The goal of Lycaenos is to foster a fun, fair environment. Given its flair for in-character drama, subterfuge and violence, it might not be the best place for those with close attachments to their characters. Chaos can happen anywhere, anytime, as it is a force of nature that always lurks in the shadows... therefore, we ask that you make efforts to familiarize yourself with the site rules and the information contained within this Guidebook so that all players can enjoy themselves while avoiding any potential violations. Failure to comply with the site rules can put your membership with us at risk. If at any point you feel uncomfortable with something on-site, we encourage you to reach out to a Team Member for resolution.

Plot Summary

By and large, Lyca's over-arcing plot will be both flexible and moderately engaging. Unless otherwise noted, players may choose to involve their characters in the plots that are released or keep their distance; either is fine! While each release will be accompanied by a growing story, the base concept of Lyca will remain the same: the land and human ruins have gone to the wolves, and have been under their influence and control for generations now. It will be up to the players whether their characters choose to worship the Pantheon or if they'll question them. Nation relations won't always be positive, and surely conflict will arise. Will they choose to fight for peace, or the alternative? And no one knows when the Beastclans will return... We look forward to writing with you!
